Yamazakura Pure Malt

Description

Yamazakura Whisky which comes from the Asaka distillery is a pleasant surprise from first pour. It’s a stunning shade of first-steeped white tea with a big hit on the nose. While there’s no words on the label we do believe this one has no added colour and is not a chill filtered process due to the colour and ABV present.

A relatively young whisky but don’t let that throw you off.

You’ll get hints of mango, pear, apricots and some barley on the nose, meanwhile the mouth on this one is worth getting excited for. Sherry, coffee, chocolate start the party but then steps in raisins and sultanas. There’s a heat in this one that carries through from start to finish but is not over powering. Give it a go, we think you’ll enjoy.
